Court Asked To Delay New Food Stamp Rules
A federal court is urged to delay Ford administration food stamp rules that would cut benefits for about 1.66 million families and reduce eligibility for roughly 1.72 million more. The coalition argues the changes violate the 1964 Food Stamp Act and would raise costs and fraud risk while limiting aid to the truly needy. FRAC backs the coalition, seeking a preliminary injunction as hearings proceed.
