Mickey Cohen Dies at 62 in Los Angeles
Los Angeles kingpin Mickey Cohen, who ran West Coast gambling rackets in the 1940s and 1950s, died Thursday at UCLA Medical Center. He was 62. Harvey Smith Laden, creator of a renowned topiary garden in Monkton, Maryland, died Wednesday after a long illness. He was 89.

If South has KQ of diamonds you gain. if he returns spades or hearts you still limit losses. In three notrump with West, opening heart lead is not best. Lead the eight of spades at trick two and follow with low from dummy if North plays low. If South wins with queen you have nine tricks. if South wins with ten you later finesse the jack. This yields about a 3-to-1 chance vs even chances for finessing the jack.
