Lippert opens Shamrock 4 Cinemas with star studded debut
Robert Lippert presents Shamrock 4 Cinemas a fourplex in Houston across from the Hilton hotel. David Lusky, a young theater manager, leads Lippert's expansion moving from Lawton to Richmond Paducah and Denver. The complex features two 260 seat and two 475 seat auditoria, a $100000 computerized projection booth, and a $1 after 7 p.m. ticket policy. The opening draws Conrad Hilton and Barron Hilton with films Love Story Willard and The Andromeda Strain playing across four screens. Lippert recalls starting in movie theaters and cites The Fly as his memorable horror work.
