Expert declarer edge seals four diamond tricks in trial play
George Rapee of New York, in the 1969 North American team trials, wins the first trick with the dummy’s nine spades and determines four diamonds secure the contract. He plays the ace on the diamond lead to drop the king, then scores five diamonds by leading through East, while other declarers fail with diamond finesses.
