Orchestra names guest conductor for Kansas City Philharmonic
Michael Charry, assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra, is named principal guest conductor of the Kansas City Philharmonic starting in fall. Charry began with Cleveland in 1961 after a nationwide competition and has led Cafton Symphony since 1961. He resigns from Cleveland. Jorge Mester remains artistic adviser and principal conductor. Charry was born in New York and is 38.
