Navy Secretary Contract Favor Charges Hurled
Senate testimony released today shows Sen. Mundt alleging Navy Secretary Korth favored General Dynamics in the TFX contract decision. Korth denied the charge and said he resented the labels. The testimony concerns whether favoritism influenced Pentagon officials to award the contract to General Dynamics over Boeing. A Naval Weapons letter questioned charts used to claim dynamics superiority and noted Boeing corrections. Mundt pressed Korth on presenting a chart he knew was disputed and not fully evaluated.
