Laetrile cancer cure labeled medical quackery
Los Angeles cancer expert denounces Laetrile as quackery and urges against legalizing it in the United States. Helene Brown of the Community Cancer Control program notes no evidence of safety or effectiveness, cites Mayo Clinic and Sloan Kettering findings, and warns the six figure annual profits in Tijuana clinics mislead patients. She contrasts proven advances in breast, prostate, thyroid, kidney cancers, and Hodgkin's disease with Laetrile’s unfounded claims and vitamin mislabeling.
