Ronald Reagan Ranch Showcases His Hands On Style
Reagan’s Rancho del Cielo retreat sits high on a drouth brown ridge reached by a winding road. A Secret Service agent guards the site as Reagan, private by nature, shows off remodeling feats and a hands on approach. He enjoys the privacy but welcomes a media event on occasion.

Politics Play Large Role In U.S.-Spain Treaty
The five year U S Spain treaty of friendship and cooperation. It replaces a 1970 base pact and signals U S faith in Spain’s democratization under King Juan Carlos. The accord, approved by the Senate, costs about 1 2 billion dollars and keeps key bases while urging NATO entry. It limits nuclear stocks at Rota and shifts Mediterranean defense to missiles and subs.
