NEA Panel Backs Higher Pay Plan For Teachers
The NEA Resolutions Committee urged replacing a $10,000 top minimum with a salary schedule that doubles starting pay while remaining high enough to avoid harming education against other incomes. The plan, risking some opposition, would prohibit pay discrimination by grade, subject, creed, race, sex, marital status or dependents.
