Buffalo hunts of Big Tree and Indian pony archers
In 1901 at Speed Kansas Oklahoma Territory Kiowa Nation, Big Tree recounts buffalo hunting with trained ponies and bow and iron arrow tips. The tale contrasts Native tactics with white hunter slaughter and details a near fatal encounter where arrows, horses, and quick teamwork saved the hunter and the herd from stampede.
