Parcells Leaves Cowboys After Four Paycheck Years
OU's Stoops linked as possible replacement in Dallas as Bill Parcells announces retirement after four seasons with the Cowboys. He left with the team playoffs appearances in 2003 and 2004, but final season ended with a late field goal mistake by Romo against Seattle. Parcells, 65, cited health and enjoyment, leaving Jerry Jones to pursue a new coach while Owens faces a March roster bonus.

Steelers hire Tomlin as head coach in milestone hire
Steelers name Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin the new head coach, making him the franchise’s first Black leader. The four year deal pays about 2.5 million annually. Tomlin succeeds Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher, entering a 74 year club with longstanding 3-4 roots and a shift to his 4-3 philosophy. The Rooney Rule context and interviews with minority candidates framed the process.
