Deep Winter Snow Lifts Colorado Ski Industry
Colorado ski country reports a sharp recovery from last year’s drought with record snow, higher skier counts, and increased spending. Steamboat Springs reports 171,702 skiers this season versus 72,919 last year, 73 inches of snow to date, and Vail shows 225 inches with 324,794 skiers, while lodging demand climbs 22 percent. United Airlines offered ski-package guarantees, but none used. Keystone guests spend 52 to 62 dollars daily on lift tickets, lodging, and meals.
