Redistricting hearing set by District Judge Marmaduke
District Judge Arthur Marmaduke will hold a hearing at 2 p.m. Monday in District Court on a motion for a new trial in the blooded redistricting dispute. Lawton commissioner Robert Ebisch and County Attorney Chester Silvers confirmed the hearing for a mandamus action filed by Owen Ard against the Board of County Commissioners seeking county redistricting in line with state statutes. At stake is whether the district map approved the day before trial stands or is voided by the mandamus ruling. The moved case signals plans to appeal to the state Supreme Court if denied a new trial.
