Wheat Estimate Is Unchanged
The Agriculture Department kept its 1953 winter wheat forecast at 611,141,000 bushels, the smallest in a decade. It cited heavy losses on fall planted acreage and dry weather likely to limit total production, based on conditions through January 1 and partial rain but still continuing subsoil moisture shortages in the Great Plains.
