Amniotic Fluid Stem Cells Offer Embryo-Free Hope
Scientists from Wake Forest University and Harvard University reported amniotic fluid contains stem cells capable of forming brain liver and bone tissues. The work, published in Nature Biotechnology, suggests a broad range of therapeutic uses while avoiding embryo destruction though human trials are years away. Researchers caution the exact number of cell types remains unknown and debate continues over funding and ethics.
