Smile A While On Those Ratings But Keep Your Powder Dry
Hollywood coverage notes progress in the NAB led ratings reform efforts as Congress nears renewed action. An NAB filing announces a new Broadcasting Rating Council Inc. in Wilmington with first meeting in New York to adopt bylaws and elect directors. Critics say ratings may be less decisive this season with shows like Espionage and Hootenanny still on air. The Channel Swim highlights ABC 1776 repeat, CBS Sicily invasion report, and Olympic prime time planned for January. Ed Sullivan’s Israel choir segment for the Pope was cut due to tape quality.
