Detroit Sniper Breaks Out In Shooting Spree
A phantom gunman terrorized women in suburban north Detroit, firing on at least two, wounding an 19 year old and grazing a girl in her home. Gary Addison Taylor, 20, of Southfield Township, was captured after a car chase. Oakland County Prosecutor Lang quoted Taylor saying he had an urge to shoot at women. He was held without charge.

Conviction of Army Lt Col Fleming Upheld by Court

Brig Gen. Paul A. Gavan told state engineering convention delegates and Chamber of Commerce members that missiles drive broader engineering progress beyond warhead and guidance systems. He warned missiles are in their infancy and demand simpler packaging, higher reliability and longer range, requiring an effort comparable to moving from the first automobile to the modern vehicle. He noted warfare is evolving with nuclear lethality and longer rocket reach, prompting redefinition of battle formations and tacticals.
