Muskie presses Nixon on unilateral Vietnam pullout date
Sen. Edmund S Muskie renewed his attack on President Nixon for not setting a unilateral withdrawal date from Vietnam. While campaigning in Wisconsin he criticized GOP critics including William Rogers and Melvin Laird, urging that prisoner release and troop safety be the sole conditions for a withdrawal timetable. Other Democrats like Henry M Jackson and Hubert H Humphrey outlined campaign lines as races heated up in New Hampshire and West Virginia.
