Oil prices rise but impact seen limited in U S
Dr Walter W Heller said oil price increases will not majorly affect the United States as the country relies on the Middle East for about ten percent of its energy and Arab oil embargo cuts have reduced that share. Most other foreign suppliers are expected to follow.

More than seven inches of snow fell across the state with northwest and north central Kansas hit hardest. Snow depth averaged about four inches in that region as winds gusted to 35 mph, creating drifts several feet high and leaving roads snow packed and impassable. Ice on wires cut long distance lines to ten Salina area communities. Intermittent snow tormented motorists in northwest Oklahoma with snow beginning early and expanding northeast by noon.
