Government watchdogs probe farmers in Kern County set-aside cases
The Office of Inspector General and the GAO are auditing farm program compliance nationwide. In Kern County California investigators found 486 farmers with alleged set-aside land violations, with other settlements in Woodbury Iowa and Twiggs Georgia where payments were reduced or canceled.
