Famed Oil Well to Be Honored at Oklahoma City
The No 1 Oklahoma City oil well, birthplace of the Oklahoma City field 43 years ago, was to be named a state historic site in ceremonies at the chamber of commerce and the well site. Cities Service Oil officials and the Oklahoma Historical Society arranged custody and dedication. Oil began flowing December 4 after technical fixes, with 6 624 feet depth and 6 564 barrels daily, totaling 110 496 barrels in 27 days.
