Steamer Tahoe Lays Silent Beneath Tahoe’s Icy Waters
The 169 foot steamer Tahoe remains half a mile offshore in 370 feet of water near Glenbrook Nevada. Preservation, not salvage, has kept her from rusting or algae growth as owner families debate costly raising. Previous salvage efforts failed due to escalating costs, with latest estimates suggesting current methods would still require immense transport to the mountain lake.

Employees qualify if the home office serves their employer. Retail salespeople may deduct for regular inventory storage. Conferees also approved taxing bribes in foreign transactions instead of denying benefits.
Oklahoma Governor Flags Campaign Interchange and Prison Plans
Governor Boren spoke during the presidential campaign season noting Mondale would visit Oklahoma for a major agriculture address. He warned prison overcrowding remains severe, but new facilities at Lexington and Homing under construction should ease the increase, which has run about 100 inmates monthly.
