Long-Time Popeye Voice Harry Welch Dies at 74
Harry Foster Welch, longtime Popeye voice for four decades, died at 74 in Blowing Rock North Carolina after a weeks long hospital stay. He rose to fame in 1927 as Popeye creator FE C Segars chosen voice and entertained at presidents events. Survivors include his widow and daughter Ruth Caine of Poughkeepsie New York. Funeral services planned at St Marys of the Hills in Blowing Rock with burial in Miami.
