Carter Welfare Overhaul Plan Would Provide Tax Relief
The Carter plan expands the earned income tax credit to boost middle class relief and aid working poor up to 400 dollars per family. It maintains tax credits beyond four thousand dollars at five percent until a nine thousand eighty entry point, then phases out to zero at fifteen thousand six hundred for a four person family. The package would replace welfare programs with cash aid and job creation including up to 1.4 million new public sector positions.
