County Commission freezes most departments at 1974-75 levels
The Comanche County excise board approved a 1975-76 budget keeping most departments at 1974-75 personnel levels, except the district attorney and highway division. Sheriff Rogers sought a $371,884.50 staffing budget and 24 deputies, but commissioners argued resources won’t permit increases. Tensions and meetings followed as officials debated the freeze and funding authority.
