Continued from Page One the badman Norris must be dismissed due to his death. Lawton area residents recall constant surveillance by police at his mobile home HQ off US 62. Detectives note Norris cooperated yet dodged direct questions about bootlegger Chambless’s July disappearance. He claimed a business deal with Chambless and admitted being seen with him the night before Chambless vanished. Norris planned a straight path, bought a home, and eyed two grocery lots, then moved west of Lawton. His sister sought a beer tavern license for a site 20 miles away, but it never opened. His FBI file dates to 1987 when first detained as a juvenile.
