Oklahoma City Aids Funding Faces Adjournment Hurdle
Oklahoma lawmakers remain split over whether 1.25 million in state school aid should go to Oklahoma City Tulsa and other districts or be cut in the next biennium. Sen Don Baldwin backs eliminating the aid while Gov Raymond Cary opposes. Tulsa received 520000 and Oklahoma City 713000 this year. Adjournment timelines vary with House Speaker Bill Harkey urging a May 13 goal and Senate leaders agreeing on a daylight-hour finish without an all night session.

The plan would allow investors to deduct all or part of losses from small businesses in a single year, reducing tax liability and encouraging growth.
