Mount of Temptation Looks On Two Nations
The Mount of Temptation in Jordan rises 2,000 feet above the Jordan River valley offering views of Jordan and Israel. Local tradition places Christ’s 40 day fast and temptations here, with a Greek Orthodox monastery midway up and a chapel and grotto marking the biblical events. From the summit one sees Jericho Moab and Edom and, to the west, Jerusalem's church spires. Tomorrow features the Village of Bethany.
