Walters Rain Making Discussion On Tap
FERDIE DEERING, editor manager of Farmer-Stockman magazine and chairman of Gov Hall s Weather Modification Study Committee, will discuss drought and rain making programs at a Cotton County Wheat Growers Association meeting at Walters elementary school. Lawton plans a year long contract with Dr Irving P Krick s California firm to boost runoff for two reservoirs. The plan costs 27000 dollars with ground based generators to seed silver iodide into storm systems. Previous aerial cloud seeding by Norman and California firms cost 290000 and yielded 95000 acre feet of rainfall, a figure officials call only a heavy dew.
