Portland Expected To Take Martin As Draft Opens
The NBA draft opens with Portland holding the No 1 pick and expected to select 6-10 LaRue Martin from Loyola Chicago. Interest centered on North Carolina’s Robert McAdoo, but reports say Portland declined him after he pondered ABA offers. The draft includes tall talents like Tom Riker John Gianelli and Mike Ratliff, with McAdoo and Princeton guard Brian Taylor among major hardship cases leaving college early.
