Bailey Pike Change Eyed By State Unit

The Oklahoma Highway Commission voted to seek extending I-44 designation from Oklahoma City to Wichita Falls Texas. The plan routes along I-35 I-240 and the Bailey Turnpike, ending at U S 82 in Wichita Falls with no new construction. Officials say shorter extension to Wichita Falls is favored and may gain Federal approval. Completion of the Rogers Lane interchange in Lawton supports the addition as a controlled access facility.
