The St Louis Browns won the decisive title game over the Chicago team with a score of 4 to 1. Spectators reported immense excitement as St Louis catcher received an elegant silver service in celebration of the victory.

A mysterious illness strikes young cattle in Audubon and Fillmore townships near Nokomis on October 26. In a few hours the animals stiffen, suffer agony, and die. Flesh shows bloodshot bruising after death. Several farmers report one to four head lost within a week. No cause or remedy is known.
Lafferty, known as the colored wife murderer, died in Wyandotte jail soon after transport from Leavenworth to guard against mob violence. He cut his throat last Sunday and died from the effects of the attempt. Sheriff Churchill collected the body after arrival.
Riding the railroad election in Tonomto Kas. Oct 26. Voters approved bonds for the Chicago Kansas and Western line. The measure carried by 190 majority, promising early construction of the air line from Kansas City via Toronto to Arkansas City along the limestone route.

Frothingham described the suspect as about six feet tall twenty four years old and weighing about 200 pounds wearing a dark gray overcoat. Police and express officials press for arrest and claim the run was unusually heavy.

In Lincoln Nebraska yesterday 22 year old Nora Johanson a Danish domestic died from morphine after taking a dram to end her life. The self destruction was caused by her lover breaking his marriage promise to her and refusing to marry her.
A 19 year old Prussian tramp named John Asmus was fatally mangled today while attempting to ride a moving passenger train. The incident occurred in Krusey as the man tried to hop the car, leaving a severely injured body and a stark accident scene.
Kansas City October 26 The oleomargarine bill goes into effect next Monday and butter prices will likely rise as Missouri laws prohibit oleomargarine sales in the state.
A crazy man on a north bound train in Van Buren Arkansas attacked a marshal, stabbed him, then cut passengers before an elderly man used the officer’s pistol to fatally shoot the assailant. Several passengers sustained serious injuries.

Sheep receipts 0 with active, firmer trade and many grades offered.
The Drovers Journal notes Chicago cattle receipts around 8,000 with shipments about 1,000. Market weak, 10 to 15 cents lower. various classes show price ranges from 1,302 to 3,530 per head.
