Publication states that Harry Petzold is notified he has been sued by Catherine Petzold in District Court of Kansas County. He must answer on or before April 20 or a divorce will be granted and Catherine’s name changed to Catherine Barker. Attorneys Bark er & Summerfield represent the plaintiff.
State of Kansas Doveras County notices appoint Helen Tampere as administrator of the estate of Wm Totestell, late of Douglas County. Probate court orders reveal the administrator’s authority and duties. All interested parties must appear to assert claims or respond accordingly.
State of Kansas Doveras County notices probate matter for the estate of Le Crandall deceased of Douglas county Kansas. On February 6 1887 the undersigned was appointed administrator by the probate court of Douglas county to administer the estate and to take oath of office. The notice directs all creditors to present claims and comply with legal requirements.
Notice is given that W. C. Howard as administrator of the James H. King estate will apply at the next Probate Court term in Lawrence Douglas County Kansas on April 25 1887 for a full and final settlement and an allowance for administrator and attorney fees. Creditors and all interested parties are notified of the proceedings.
A county order by Douglas County Kansas requires owners of horses cattle mules and swine in Wakarusa township to confine and restrain livestock at all times of day and year. The measure takes effect March 1 1887 and violation carries penalties per 1886 law. Published in Lawrence Weekly Journal for three weeks.
In November 1886 a petition by Carey Burgan Zimmerman and 72 electors of Grant township sought an order to confine domestic stock including cows horses cattle mules and colts. The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners granted the order effective March 1 1887 and directed publication in the Lawrence Weekly Journal for three weeks. Joel S White County Clerk certified the document as a true copy. Garwood H Attwood filed in the U S Circuit Court District of Kansas as complainant.
