About six months ago he forged a $500 draft in Montgomery county Maryland where he lived and swindled the I C O F order out of $2 000 and beat a number of others out of like sums. He left there in September last and has since wandered over the country finally gaining admittance to the soldiers' home he having served in company F 5th Maryland infantry. Sheriff Miller of Montgomery county is here now and will start for Maryland with the prisoner Monday. Edwards confesses everything. He has swindled many people.
