Haskell Ball Club Wins At University News
Yesterday the Haskell Institute nine defeated the University team eleven to five, after an earlier University win of twenty two to five in the morning mix up. The day featured multiple athletic contests, with notable results by J D Smith, F Reed, H Hadley, F Firestone, N C Brooks, and W A Snow among others, and many prizes to be claimed Monday afternoon. The event concluded with praise for the Atheneum society and its organizers.

May 1889 Cemetery Interments and Ludington Injury
May interments at Oak Hill and Maple Grove cemeteries are reported. News from Kansas City states Mr. R. W. Ludington was injured while boarding a cable car, struck by an express wagon, suffering a scalp fracture. Doctors expect a full recovery with rest, and he should be able to return home by Monday.

Atheneum Society Shows Youthful Vigor in Yearend Exercises
