Atchison Liquor Case Leads to State Court Remand

In Atchison January 2 circuit judge D J Brewer issued an opinion in the state ex rel case challenging Kansas prohibitory liquor law as unconstitutional under the fourteenth amendment. The defendant Bradley’s removal to federal court was denied and the case remanded to state court for settlement. Separately, Junction City forms a Board of Trade with B Rockwell as president and T Dixon as vice president. Kansas City Kansas water works plan shifts supply to Missouri river sources, with Wyandotte Water Works sold to National Works Company for service to Wyandotte and Kansas City, Kansas.
