TRAIN WRECKERS IDENTIFIED AS CULPRITS AND BOMB FOUND

Chicago dispatch reports three attempted wrecks on Rock Island and Lake Shore trains. A wedge blew out a locomotive head on the first, a signal-tampering attempt nearly caused a collision on the second, and a freight train was halted by a wedge near Fifty first street. Suspects include discharged switchmen. a bomb was found on a Lake Shore track at Thirty-third street. Also noted: a major defaulter, William Gray Jr., amid a mill empire collapse and possible suicide theories.

Davenport Iowa August 17 a wind and rain storm swept eastern Iowa and western Illinois causing $8 000 in church roof losses at Cambridge and elsewhere.
