Filing costs include 2207 dollars to enter a governor running mate ticket or 670 dollars for a 5000-signature petition.
The Kansas Democratic Party debates recalling secretary Yingling amid claims she sought to use party funds for personal gain after a 2016 special election loss in the 4th District. Party leaders Gibson Hiatt and Hutton back the recall, citing conflicts of interest and the need to prevent self enrichment. Yingling and allies respond via SaveTheParty.org, criticizing recall supporters Witt Reeves and their LGBT and blogging ties.
Soofi pleaded guilty to the battery charge in Douglas County District Court. She received 30 days in jail but six months probation, avoiding actual jail unless terms are violated. Bragg, charged separately with drug paraphernalia last season, transferred to Arizona State University as a redshirt sophomore.
