Clinton Campaign To Highlight Dole's Legislative Record
In the final campaign month, Clinton surrogates will spotlight Dole votes on October anniversaries. They plan events in targeted states marking Dole's 1992 votes blocking the Brady Bill and other crime measures, a 1965 vote against federal student loans, a 1992 vote for a filibuster on family and medical leave, and a 1995 vote opposing Medicare expansion and a minimum wage resolution. The Dole camp counters with its own timeline of Clinton gaffes, including a 1995 tax rise admission.
