Mother gets probation after daughter gambles
A southwest Missouri woman, Carla Jean Wilson, 41, of Ash Grove near Springfield, received six months of supervised probation for escorting her 16 year old daughter to riverboat casinos where she gambled during a June weekend. The probation includes no contact with riverboat casinos, with possible penalties of up to six months in jail and a $500 fine for violation. Casinos Station Casino Kansas City and Harrah's North Kansas City face $250,000 fines for not preventing the teen from entering and gambling, with employees losing jobs. The girl used another person's driver’s license to gain entry at Station on June 9 and also gambled at Harrah's Mardi Gras. Wilson was charged in July with a class B underage gambling misdemeanor and sentenced Wednesday in Clay County.
