Rep Newell A. George of Kansas announces formal campaign kickoff in Lawrence. He will address Kansas University Young Democrats at the Student Union Building on campus while seeking a second term in Kansas' 2nd District. Opponent is Robert F. Ellsworth.
Funeral services are planned in Stafford Kansas Wednesday for Dr R C Ardrey former Lawrence resident and chiropractor who died Sunday night in Stafford. Survivors include his widow and son Eldon Ardrey of Flagstaff with another son Robert Clair Ardrey deceased earlier. In Overbrook Earl B Leonard 72 retired farmer died Monday in Topeka with services Wednesday at Overbrook Methodist Church burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Baker Funeral Home in charge Leonard born February 23 1888 in Stanton County lived in Richland Overbrook last three years survivors include widow three sons a sister seven brothers and eight grandchildren.
A three member panel from the American Whig Cliosophic Society at Princeton unanimously ruled that Senator John F Kennedy argued better than Vice President Richard Nixon in the televised debate. The judges were Howard Pontius Donald Emmerson and Jonathon Day.
A mobile tuberculosis X-ray unit began a six day visit in Lawrence, visiting North Lawrence by day and the National Guard armory by night. Kansas University athletic director A C Lonborg told the Lawrence Lions that the United States must increase support and funding to match Germany and Russia as they prepare for the 1964 Olympics in Japan. He noted Russians studied the U S team and aimed to beat them, praised the players as goodwill ambassadors, and urged high school sports expansion to sustain Olympic strength.

Harold Pobjoy of 742 North York Street was fined 20 dollars in police court after being found guilty of driving without a valid driver's license.
