Kansas University to Train 50 Civ Aviation Students
University of Kansas will train not less than 50 men under the federal civilian aviation program this year. Earl D. Hay received KU’s quota from the Civil Aeronautics Authority in Washington. About 75 upperclassmen applied, with several schools including Ashcraft Brothers of Lawrence among applicants. Classes start October 1, with 35 to 50 hours of flight training and a five hour ground school, for a 340 fee covering insurance exams and textbooks.
