Youth Held in Slaying of Topeka Station Owner
Roy McDaniell age 18 from Graze City Missouri was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Fred Vogler and George Price and held as a suspect in the Topeka slaying of John Gartner 30 owner of a filling station and market. Two Boys Await Charges In Oil Theft Case
Two youths were arrested Thursday afternoon by Officer William Hayer over theft of oil and gasoline from the Jackman Mills oil room and jailed to await charges. Suspects are Chester Stone, about 36, and Willis Longanecker, 19. Stone resides seven miles west of Lawrence on Highway 40. Longanecker lives at 982 Rhode Island Street.
