Planners OK scaled-down Vinland housing project
Lawrence-Douglas County planners endorsed a smaller 75.6 acre Vinland Valley Estates plan by a unanimous vote. Eight months after rejecting a 208 acre proposal, commissioners supported rezoning and a preliminary plat for eight homes near Vinland east of Route 460 and East 1800 Road. The Lemesangs aim to sell eight lots with a watershed lakefront site, priced around 250000 each, amid ongoing lawsuits over the initial plan. Opponents remain wary and some signatures oppose the project still.
