Douglas County Senior Services hosts an expo where seniors like 54 year old Gail Alder and 51 year old Mitch Landreth seek resume critiques and work. Alder with 30 years in bookkeeping and office work has six months of job hunting. Landreth spent 15 years in construction and has had three interviews in 18 months. Heartland Works consultant Suzanne Cotrel Doyle notes about 120 job seekers daily at the Lawrence Workforce Center and says many seniors feel financial pressure to keep working despite desire to retire.
