The 2000 Census highlights more movement into the South with 1.8 million net in-migrants, while the West remains steady and the Northeast and Midwest decline. Nevada leads in moving share at 63 percent, followed by Colorado and Arizona, amid retirees and growth. College towns near bases top mover percentages, and Louisiana leads natives living in-state at 80 percent.
