Joseph E. Wilson Jr. was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for money laundering wire fraud and false tax returns linked to embezzled funds by his ex-wife Sara. The pair used stolen money to buy and remodel a home near Anchorage and $20,000 in furniture while Wilson took months off from work.

FAA allows higher passenger facility charges starting April 2001
The FAA said airports may raise passenger facility charges from April 1 2001 under the Aviation Investment and Reform Act. The current $3 cap could rise to $4 or $4.50, with a limit of two charges per one way flight and four per round trip, regardless of stops. Airports may choose not to raise fees.
