Lawrence woman dies after crossing street hit by vehicle
Chandrakanta Shah a 58 year old Lawrence woman was struck by a 1989 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cecile M Clevenger a KU student from Mission Hills as she crossed Louisiana Street to reach her home. Shah was rushed to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she died about an hour later. Police say the car was not traveling at excessive speed but the accident remains under investigation and funeral services are pending.
