Kroger announces David Dillon will retire as CEO on January 1 while remaining chairman through December 31, 2014. W Rodney McMullen will become CEO, part of a long term succession plan. Dillon, 62, has led Kroger since 2003 and is from the family that founded Dillons Supermarkets.
