Floodwaters linger as Southeast storms batter Georgia
Wide swathes of Georgia remain under floodwater with Six Flags and neighborhoods submerged and rescue operations continuing. Nine deaths blamed on the Southeast storms include a 14 year old in the Chattooga River. Georgia officials estimate damage at 250 million dollars as residents seek shelter and authorities warn against returning home too soon. Gov. Perdue sought federal emergency aid as creeks rose and roads washed out across the Atlanta metro area.
